RIDGELAND NEIGHBORS NIGHT OUT
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2016
6:00 PM - 8:00PM

POOLSIDE

This year, the City of Ridgeland will hold its sixth annual Ridgeland Neighbors Night Out on Thursday, Oct. 20. Ridgeland in neighborhoods in the community to come together and get to know each other. This is also a time where residents get to meet local law enforcement officers and firemen, as well as their alderman. It is an opportunity to also send a message to criminals that we will not tolerate crime in Ridgeland!  This is a great opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other especially with several new homeowners at The Breakers.  And an opportunity to express our great appreciation for what our police force  and fire fighters do to protect us.

The Ridgeland Police Department has personally invited us once again to participate in annual Ridgeland Neighbors Night Out event on Thursday, October 20th.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2015
The City of Ridgeland will hold its local version of National Night Out, known as Ridgeland Neighbors Night Out Thursday, Oct. 15, 2013. This event allows residents to become better acquainted with each other and with local authorities, enhancing crime prevention efforts in the community.

"This is the perfect opportunity for every resident and business owner to come together and send a message to criminals that we will not tolerate crime in Ridgeland," said Mike Raffield, Communications Supervisor and Crime Prevention Specialist with the Ridgeland Police Department. "Many Ridgeland neighborhoods choose to have a covered dish block party. Last year, Wendover neighbors came together in a cul-de-sac to grill hamburgers and host an arts and crafts table for children."

"You can personalize your event to fit your group and make it as large or as small as desired," Raffield said.

Police officers, firefighters and elected city officials enjoy stopping by and visiting the various events around Ridgeland. Ridgeland Neighbors Night Out is getting larger every year with more groups participating according to records by the Ridgeland Police Department.

Please see the attached letter from Mayor Gene McGee about National Night Out.

The Breakers participated this several years ago and it was held it at the clubhouse.

This year we are asking everyone to participate in a Breakers Lane block party!

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE SHOULD YOU WANT TO:

• Grilling at the edge of the Lane in carports or garages
• Sit out in front of your condo street side to enjoy "front porch" neighborly visiting
• Set up a "hospitality" table with refreshments of your choice to enjoy and/or share with your neighbors and the public officials as they stroll past your unit
• Have music playing at each station.

Mike Raffield with the Police Department has been contacted and he has added us to the list of participating neighborhoods. Ridgeland firemen and policemen will stroll our Lane to meet as many as possible.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW! We hope as many as can will participate in this annual event.
